Limited to 10 participants, spend 5 days in an intimate hands-on course with Fashion Photographer Peter Coulson. Peter will be teaching and covering everything from Studio Light, Natural Light, Flash Light, Photoshop, Posing,  Working with Models, Creating your own Photographic Style, Styling, Conceptualising, Digital Workflow, just to name a few things!

Week Schedule:

Day 1:
10am-5pm – Introduction to technicals & Studio Techniques

Day 2:
10am-5pm – Advanced Studio Techniques

Day 3:
12pm-3.00pm – Natural Light workshop
Group Dinner
8.00pm-10.30pm – Flash/Constant Light Workshop

Day 4:
10am-1pm: Photoshop Part 1
1pm – 5pm: Posing & Working With Models

Day 5:
10.00am-1.00pm: Photoshop Part 2
1.00pm-5.00pm: Recreating Peter’s lighting & Editorial shooting

Additional Information:

– We strictly allow 10 participants to these tickets.
–  Each participant is allocated 30 minutes 1-on-1 with Peter to discuss anything from image critic to business planning
– Lunch and Refreshments included along with a light breakfast.

– Photoshop files retouched during workshop in TIFF format to view all layers
– Peter’s personal Photoshop action set
– Images taken during the workshop can be used for social media, website and portfolio use

– Most of Peter’s work is shot around 85 mm but he does use lenses as wide as 16mm and telephoto as long as 200mm. You are welcome to bring what you think will suit your work best.

– Laptops are not necessary, but welcome for viewing images taken during workshop

Hotel recommendation close to studio (Hiring a car will be recommended to travel to and from the studio)

Sage Melbourne Ringwood New hotel in area, next to large shopping centre with plently of food options. Also walking distrace to train station to explore Melbourne City.
Clarion Hotel On Canterbury This hotel is 15 minutes drive from the studio. Not much food walking distance, but many food options close by.
Ringwood Royale – These are apartment style accomadation if you prefer to have more space and a kitchen

If you prefer to stay close to the city (CBD area is great, or Richmond if you would like to hire a car, more hotels with parking), you can hire a car to drive, or get a train and we will pick and drop you off at the train station.

Advanced Studio Techniques

Peter will be teaching you how to perfect Advanced lighting setups that will still keep your photography simple, easy, clean and beautiful! He will be showing you his tips and tricks to multi-lighting set ups to really make your photos pop, as well as how to find the light within a studio and shoot only with natural light! This workshop also covers Peter’s photoshoot workflow, covering the start to end of a high-end photoshoot.

This workshop is an intensive hands-on day of learning, perfecting and shooting Beauty and Fashion. Perfect for photographers that are wanting to expand their knowledge on studio photography.

Natural Light

Re-ignite your love and excitement for Photography by seeing, learning and shooting how Peter works outdoors, commercially and during his own creative photoshoots. Learn Peter’s techniques on how to find the perfect light in any location, in the most ugliest locations, with any model or client, creating flawless Beauty Portraits and Fashion Photographs.

Going through all weather conditions, Peter will teach you why middle of the day sun is the easiest and most stunning, and his favourite time of day to create dramatic and clean images that need minimum/no retouching! Weddings, Children & Family, New Born, Fashion; any type of Photographer will be able to adapt Peter’s Natural Light skills and techniques to dramatically improve their photographic skills and business!

Flash at Night

Peter will be teaching you he shoots with constant & on camera flash on location at night time, in the streets of Sydney. You will get to spend this intensive hands-on workshop shooting & learning how Peter works commercially outdoors at night, how to select your locations correctly, & how to light your model correctly to create incredible images!
